Frequently Asked Questions
At this time, Young Gunz is ONLY recruiting 10U players.
10U eligibility is based on your child’s age according to USSSA/Perfect Game guidelines. Typically, your player must not turn 11 before the cutoff date (usually May 1).
Age Breakdown for 9U in 2026 / 10U in 2027
- 9U (Spring/Fall 2026): Birthdates from Sept 1, 2016, to Aug 31, 2017.
- 10U (Spring/Fall 2027): Birthdates from Sept 1, 2016, to Aug 31, 2017 (These players become 10U).
Birthdate Guidelines:
- If your child was born on August 31, 2017, they are generally in the younger group of 9U in 2026.
- If your child was born on September 1, 2016, they are generally in the older group of 9U in 2026.
Example Scenario:
Based on the birthdate of April 4th, 2016, the player is not eligible for the 9U/10U age bracket you listed.
Under USSSA and Perfect Game guidelines, a player's age is determined by how old they are on the "cutoff date" (which is May 1st for Perfect Game and most USSSA baseball divisions).
The Breakdown
Because the player's birthday is April 4th, they turn 10 years old before the May 1st cutoff in 2026. This makes them a 10U player for the 2026 season, rather than a 9U player.
Here is where they fit for the upcoming seasons:
- 2026 Season (Spring/Fall): They are 10U.
- 2027 Season (Spring/Fall): They will be 11U.
